This weeks featured shop is Shorelines of Cowes, just a ferry ride across the Solent from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight!

Shorelines is a lovely blue painted gift shop that nestles on the bustling High street that runs parallel to the sea and a short walk from the ferry terminal. The town of Cowes boasts a great variety of shops including some hight street popular chains such as fat face and Joules, but also- and the best bit is lots of independants!!

Clairey creates beautiful displays for the window using cards as bunting- and has a gift for most occasions, and she's been stocking my goodies for eight whole years now- my how time flies!!! :)

So if you happen to be in Cowes- pop in, say hello and pick up your 2014 Coastal calendar which I happen to be painting right now!! (available from mid May!) There's also a website for Shorelines  where you can read more about the shop!

Famous for its boats, maritime history and Osborne House- home of Queen Victoria, Cowes is a lovely place to visit, infact why not pop over to the Isle of Wight for a few days and visit its other attractions? My last trip there was tied in with a visit to the Portsmouth Dockyard- where I at last saw the mary Rose (can't wait to go back and see it in its new home!!), from where we boarded the ferry over to Cowes and a couple of nights stay on the Isle of Wight.

A beautiful Island- with plenty to do (a few web links below for you)- one for Cowes and the other must do is the chairlift to Alum Bay- a little hair-raising but fun!!

So should you find yourself with a few days off and wondering what to do- book a late afternoon ferry. Visit the Portsmouth Dockyard in the morning- nip up the Spinnaker tower just after a bite of lunch, catch the ferry late afternoon, landing on the island in time to find your hotel/ B and B, evening meal or fish and chips, and a nice sleep after that sea air feeling all refreshed for exploring Cowes and the island the next couple of days!!

You can even catch the ferry home from Yarmouth (we supply the post office there!) to Lymington- and if you time that for a Saturday landing- Lymington has the most fantastic Saturday street market too!!!

Not sure where i'll be sending you all next week, but am hoping that you're enjoying my blog so far!!
