The past few weeks have been somewhat mental and I can't believe another bank holiday is now upon us.... but am back in blogging mode now :)

This week my blog features the Harbour town of Padstow in North Cornwall.... Often known as "Padstein" because of the famous TV chef that has his restaurant and fish shops amongst others there- however that's not all Padstow has to offer- there's so very much more!!!

Nestled amongst a row of shops on a pack street parallel to the harbour is The Gift Horse (formerly known as the craft cabin!), run by Mike, Judy and their son David- its a small shop packed tightly with lots of goodies- the place to pick up a Cornwall calendar or tea towel!!!! They're always there with a friendly face- come rain or shine and am sure if you ask nicely they'll give you tips on the best places to eat!!! (I personally like the fish and chips in the cafe on the harbour front!!) The Gift Horse always has the very best selection of all of my coastal designs including a few specials so its more that worth a pop in!!

I have a great fondness for Cornwall as many of you know- Padstow in particular, I remember it as a child, visiting when it wasn't quite the attraction it is now, then its where I first spotted one of my favorite artists in a gallery there- Sasha Harding- look her up if you get the chance- her work is amazing!!!

infact Padstow maybe the reason I love painting boats and harbours so much looking back at those Cornish holidays when I was little!! Mum and I would always rootle out the little coffee shops and ice cream parlours- while Dad was the king of the beach!!

Padstow has many lovely small independant shops, as well as a few select chains such as Seasalt and Fatface, but it also has several small galleries including The Whistlefish (who sell some prints of mine unavailable anywhere else), there's also the Lobster Hatchery which is a must if you're staying there or going for a day trip, as well as a little further down the coast the National trust property Bedruthan steps- well worth a visit!!

So all have a great bank holiday weekend!!!
